In my twenty years as a litigator, I have learned a great deal about how courts operate. Having experienced divorce in my family as a child, I wanted to help people with the issues in divorce. Nonetheless, I knew from my personal experiences with divorce, and my knowledge of the limitations of the court system, that I could not truly help people facing divorce simply as a litigator. Truly helping people face divorce required that I focus on finding another way.
This focus led me to found Cleland Collaborative Solutions. Based on the concept that communication, collaboration and client education are vital to a better divorce process and better results, the mission of Cleland Collaborative Solutions is to improve how people in our community achieve and think about divorce. As part of this mission, I encourage people to consider mediation and collaborative practice when facing a divorce.
If you are facing divorce, I encourage you learn about the great advantages mediation and collaborative practice can have for you and your children.I share additional resources, information and my perspective on divorce on this website, including my blog, The Collaborative Mindset, which I hope you will find helpful. I am also happy to speak with you about our approach and address any questions or concerns. You can reach me by phone at (586) 981-0990 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
